March 31-April 1: NJ Wine & Food Festival (Sussex County, NJ)

“The New Jersey Wine & Food Festival at Crystal Springs Resort is a celebration of the world’s best wines and renowned local and national chefs. The weekend’s events are designed to allow food and wine lovers to meet and mingle with chefs, winemakers, sommeliers and fellow wine aficionados. The events will include The Grand Tasting, a luxurious Wine Cellar dinner with Guest of Honor Daniel Boulud, the Top Chefs & Top Wines dinner with Bravo TV’s Top Chef stars, tasting of award-winning small production wines, and a variety of exciting seminar with chefs and winemakers from around the world.”

 

April 8: Philly Farm & Food Fest

“The Philly Farm and Food Fest returns on Saturday, April 8 at the PA Convention Center Hall F (12th and Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102), with a year’s worth of local food inspiration in one action-packed day. Come experience a local celebration that brings together exceptional growers and authentic food artisans who feed the community, tend the land and excite your palates. This is the most authentic opportunity for you to interact with farmers, meet your makers, converse with brewers, and connect with hundreds of standout individuals who value local and sustainable. You can explore the area’s CSAs and sign up for one, purchase goods made by local artisans, enjoy cooking demonstrations or a whole pig butchering in the PA Preferred PF3 Kitchen, chat and taste with local cheese pros, pet farm animals, and plan your whole year of local. Come celebrate the local food scene and the individuals who make it exceptional!”

 

April 8-9: 12 Farms Bunny Brunch (Hightstown, NJ) 

“Come have brunch at 12 Farms and have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny! Complimentary scones and choice of menu options like sStuffed French toast with cinnamon cream cheese and real maple syrup, local lamb sheppard’s pie, Green Eggs and Ham: Two eggs served with a green ranchero sauce”

 

April 9: The Dinky Bar Mixology Class: Summer Cocktails (Princeton, NJ)

April 15: The Great Jersey Shore Burger Contest & Craft Beer Fest

“Top Jersey Shore Restaurants compete for ‘The Best Burger at the Shore’. Enjoy samples of select craft beers and taste ALL of the competitors burgers. Your vote will help determine the ‘People’s Choice Award’ winner.  This year’s event is the Two Buck Shuck Oyster Bar sponsored by New Jersey’s Fourth North Oyster Farms.”

 

April 15: Home Baking & Sourdough with Philly Bread (Greensgrow Farms Community Kitchen in Philadelphia, PA)

“Philly Bread’s dough wizard, Pete Merzbacher comes to the Community Kitchen to teach you the basics of sourdough fermentation and how to set up an organized home kitchen. You’ll get hand-on learning how to mix, shape, and bake bread in any kitchen. Best known for creating the Philly Muffin, Peter also bakes a range of artisan breads like baguettes and ciabatta that use locally grown and freshly milled grains.”

 

April 22: Cherry Grove Farm’s Raw Milk Cheese Appreciation Day (Lawrenceville, NJ)

“Help celebrate ‘Raw Milk Cheese Appreciation Day’ at the farm by joining us for a day filled with activities, education, and.. cheese! Starting at 11:00am, we will kick off the day in the farm cottage with our well known, very popular ‘Anatomy of a Cheeseboard’ Class. Once class finishes up, we kick off the pasture walk season with a free farm tour at 1pm. Tour guests will wander the back fields of the farm learning about our history, sustainable farming methods, and a bit about the native flora and fauna that help make our farm so beautiful. The farm tour will begin at approximately 1:00pm. This year, we are partnering with a few of our favorite local friends who make delicious accompaniments for our raw milk cheeses — our first mini “makers day”. Stop by our seasonal tent to taste, meet, and mingle with some of the best foodsmiths in the area.”

 

April 22-23: Fast Tracks and Food Trucks Festival (Six Flags Great Adventure)

“Psych Yourself Up for World-Class Coasters and Chow Down on Delicious Food Truck Fare! Join us for the 4th annual Fast Tracks and Food Trucks festival with 15 food trucks all with delicious treats! Food Truck area is open from 12 to 7 p.m. each day and the wine sampling is open from 1 to 5 p.m. each day. Admission to the festival is included with theme park admission or a season pass. Food is available for an additional fee. Entrance to the event is located in Movietown. Wine tasting portion requires a ticket. Tickets are available online for $10.99 in advance. Discounted theme park tickets will also be available for the day.”

 

April 23: Daffodil Day at Reeves Reed Arboretum (Summit, NJ)

“With Daffodil Day on the heels of Earth Day, come celebrate spring and the Earth amongst thousands of daffodils at this festive, family-fun event! Highlights include live performances by the Shinbone Alley Stilt Band, the return of the Green Goats Petting Zoo, ‘green’ themed games and crafts, photos with Bruce Lorenz, an Outdoor Market, food…and so much more!”

April 28: Open Barre: A Beer and Ballet Experience (Lambertville, NJ)

“Come get a taste of the local art while sampling some local craft beer at Roxey Ballet’s Open Barre! Enjoy beer, wine, water, and snacks on select Friday nights throughout our season! At this event, Roxey Ballet’s dancers will welcome you into their rehearsal home and share a relaxing evening of dance experimentation, discussion, and casual interactions. What a way to spend a great evening out with friends! You will not be sorry you came! The best part of the whole thing: you do not need to be able to dance at all!”

April 28: The Frog & The Peach MEXICAN DINNER (New Brunswick, NJ)

“The Frog has invited Chef Daniel Mena and his team from Hecho en Dumbo to collaborate on a special dinner Friday, April 28. Danny Mena is one of New York City’s top Mexican chefs, acclaimed by such publications as Vanity Fair, LA Times,New York Times, Rolling Stone – and Mexican media as well –for the traditional Mexican food he serves at his restaurants Hecho en Dumbo and Sembrado. With the authenticity of their cuisine and an emphasis on local sourcing, Hecho en Dumbo is a natural partner to the Frog. Mr. Mena is also behind Mezcales de Leyenda, a unique range of  authentic and delicious Mezcales. Issel Campos of Leyenda and our sommelier Donaciano Betancourt will present pairings with each of the six courses, alternating between HeD and The Frog.”

April 29: Allair BBQ + Brewfest (Allair State Park in Farmingdale, NJ)

“Join us for a day of hops and hogs in the village! This the event will be in a larger area with more food vendors and a BIGGER beer tent.

While you enjoy the festival explore the historic buildings, visit craft shops, listen to live music and enjoy some good barbecue with family and friends!
